March ends with DBC’s tenth foolish bike tour—MFX—using some new routes led by Marilyn and Bruce. This year, starting Monday, a familiar 45 miles goes to Suisun City. Tuesday’s 45 miler takes us up the Wooden Valley and on to St Helena. On Wednesday, we use Franz Valley and Chalk Hill ending at Rohnert Park, a 55-mile day. Thursday brings a 40-mile ride through some of the new Marin bicycling infrastructure to the Larkspur Ferry and our favorite overnight destination in San Francisco’s North Beach. Friday, the last day of March, you may choose the Vallejo Ferry with 58 miles riding to Davis. Your more leisurely option is a ferry to Jack London Square connecting with Amtrak. Taking Bart to Richmond Amtrak is also a choice. But, we finish before April Fools Day this year.
This year’s total fee is $250, partially subsidized by Davis Bike Club. Included are four nights double occupancy in 2 and 3-star lodging with breakfast at three of them, super sag support with Dan Barcellos, maps, cue sheets, and gps routes. Our hotels are close to good restaurants. Besides meals, you pay for your own ferry and Amtrak, both of which have discounts. On the DBC tour rating guide the first four days are at the low end of C-2.
A deposit of $75 is required to hold your space and we ask that you sign up with a roommate. Our limit is 16 members. You may send your deposit (payable to Davis Bike Club) starting now to Marilyn Dewey, 1614 Van Damme Dr, Davis 95616. At our pre-tour get together in late February, the balance of $175 will be due.
