December 2018 Holiday Party

As a celebration of the Club’s year-long volunteer efforts, the Davis Bike Club hosts a Holiday Party Dinner for all members in good standing. An event that is always well-attended, the dinner will be catered with all the trimmings and non-alcoholic beverages are provided. This years Holiday Party will be held Monday, December 3rd from 6:00-9:30

Tammy Anderson, our caterer, is serving an upgraded dessert option this year.

Live entertainment from a local popular band, “Hardwater,” is returning for an encore performance. This year we’ll have a dance floor area set up after dinner and participants can show their moves other than rotating their feet in little circles. The band loves to play dance music to an appreciative audience.

More changes. We’re moving to a venue rated the best meeting site in Yolo County. The Odd Fellows Hall at 415-2nd Street has an elevated formal stage, better for the band to perform, and speakers to be seen. According to the band the sound system is superior to most places.

Instead of long institutional tables we will have numerous round tables allowing groups to gather and have eye-contact with everybody, and then you table-hop to chat with those you haven’t seen since—the last party.

Speaking of socializing, the social hour will be expanded and become a real hour. Doors open at 6 pm, with Dinner at 7. Speaking of socializing, this venue will have a full service no-host bar staffed by a professional bartender. A selection of fine craft beers will be available by request. Sorry, liquor license regulations don’t allow us to BYOB.

Door prizes, another change. In past years we’d have a few smaller prizes and maybe a big prize. Maybe it was something that you already had or didn’t need. Not this year. There will be several large prizes in the form of gift certificates from local bike shops. If you win a bike-related prize this year, the certificates are like cash, you get whatever you want.

Free Wi-Fi service is available. Dress code is casual.

There will be a business meeting we’ll keep as brief as possible. A new Board of Directors will be elected and some awards for distinguished members are on the agenda.

The hosted dinner is free to all current members on a first-come, first-get basis. We’re almost certain to sell-out so don’t delay. Deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, November 28th, at 5 pm. There may be surplus tickets available for non-members at the door. Price will be $15 each for the meal and entertainment. Be sure to specify if you want a vegetarian dish.
