4th Saturday Bill & Rob’s Excellent Adventure: A Stroll Over the Levees of Eastern Yolo County
A mellow-paced gravel ride easily accessible to road bikes with 28c+ tires. Only in Yolo County’s prehistoric inland sea can you find 58 miles, about half gravel, with only 300’ of total climbing! Along these roads we’ve seen egrets, heron, coyotes, deer, beavers, dogs, retired teachers, rednecks, bats, and goats…lots of goats.
Food and water stops at mile 35 (Elkhorn Country Saloon on Old River Rd.) and mile 47 (Enterprise Blvd: Starbucks, Sushi, and Eppie’s). There are two options to reduce mileage by 5 miles and 15 miles along the route, for those interested in a somewhat shorter ride.
