Emeryville Marina to Point Richmond

Ride Description:  January 12, 2019, ride from Emeryville Marina to Point Richmond. This is a casual ride along the Bay Trail with beautiful views of San Francisco, marinas, and bridges.  We will have lunch at the Up and Under Grill in Point Richmond. We hope to stop at the Rosie the Riveter Museum along the way, but it may be closed if the federal government remains shutdown.  The ride will start at 10:00 a.m. from the park at the end of Powell Street at the Emeryville Marina. Thanks go to Bill Karbe for creating and leading this ride last year.

Driving Directions:  Take Hwy 80 toward San Francisco, and take the Powell Street exit (Powell is the 2nd exit after University Ave in Berkeley, and the next exit after Ashby Ave).  Turn left on the Frontage Rd, and stay in the right hand lane in order to turn right on Powell Street.  Take Powell St to the very end, and then turn left into the park.  We will park and start the ride from there. Parking is free and there’s a bathroom. The ride will start at 10:00 a.m.; so, we suggest you be there by 9:45 a.m., leaving Woodland by 8:00 a.m., and Davis by 8:15 a.m.

Amtrak to Emeryville:  The Amtrak Train from Davis to Emeryville is another option.  There is a train that leaves at 8:25 a.m. and arrives in Emeryville at 9:49 a.m.  If you take this route, we recommend letting us know so we can look out for you.  You will likely see us on the route as we ride out of the Emeryville Marina.  If your train is delayed, you can wait for us on the Bay Trail outside of the Berkeley Marina, or ride our route in the opposite direction.

The Ride:  We will be going at a relatively slow pace, and there will be some stops along the way to see the sights and take photos. At least one of us will stay in back, but hopefully the group will not become separated. If for some reason you do get separated from the group, on the way out we will meet you at the restaurant; and, on the way back we will meet you back at the Emeryville Marina.
