Sutter Creek – Fiddletown – Quartz Mountain ride. 40 miles, 3700’

For this Thanksgiving edition of the 4th Saturday Bill and Rob’s Excellent Adventure ride, we will venture into Amador County gold country for the scent of pine forest. A 40-mile ride that starts with a climb up from Sutter Creek to Daffodil Hill and beyond.  After a cup of coffee or a hot tea at the fudge shop in tiny Fiddletown, we’ll turn west onto Quartz Mt Road’s gravel. The downhill on Quartz Mt is quite rough with large gravel chunks, so tough 28mm or larger tires are required and a gravel bike is recommended.

If the group is feeling spunky and decides to, we can add a beautiful loop down to the south fork of the Cosumnes River, then up to Farnham Ridge before dropping down to Fiddletown. Only if the group decides… this would add 15 miles of gravel logging roads, one wooden bridge and 1500′. (Optional: Add the beautiful Farnham Ridge loop: 46 miles, 5100′)

Lots of quaint dining establishments in the Sutter Creek/Plymouth area to recharge after the ride. This ride is ‘quality miles’ throughout!

NOTE: THIS MONTH’S RIDE MAY NOT HAVE A RIDE LEADER, so plan accordingly.
