Sutter Creek – Fiddletown – Quartz Mountain ride. 40 miles, 3700’

For this Thanksgiving edition of the 4th Saturday Bill and Rob’s Excellent Adventure ride, we will venture into the gold country for the scent of pine forest and the sound of sweat dripping on your top tube. A 40-mile ride that starts with a climb up from Sutter Creek to Daffodil Hill and beyond. (If the group is feeling spunky and decides to, we can add a 12-mile out-and-back 1200’ bonus section by riding out to Hiway 88 before dropping down to Fiddletown. Only if the group decides….) Then we drop down on a long fast descent into tiny Fiddletown and the fudge shop, before turning west into the wild of Quartz Mt Road’s gravel. The downhill on Quartz Mt is quite rough with large gravel chunks, so tough 28mm or larger tires are highly recommended. Lots of quaint dining establishments in the Sutter Creek/Plymouth area to recharge after the ride. This ride is ‘quality miles’ throughout!
