For July’s Fourth Saturday Bill & Rob’s Excellent Adventure ride on 7/24, we’re going to Silicon Valley to celebrate the finish of the Tour de France, the start of the 2020(!) Olympics and Rob’s birthday on iconic peninsula roads to the cool green waters of the Pacific Ocean.

This classic Silicon Valley coastal loop takes you from the heart of Silicon Valley to the Pacific Coast. Test yourself up the benchmark Old La Honda Road climb through the redwoods to Skyline drive. A magnificent descent brings you to the coast towns of Pescadero and San Gregorio, followed by the classic climb up beautiful Tunitas Creek Rd. (If it’s good enough for the Amgen Tour of California, it’s excellent for Bill and Rob’s 4th Saturday Excellent Adventure ride.) A jaunt through the shacks of Woodside and Stanford Hills returns you via the bike paths of Stanford campus and Palo Alto back to Gunn High School.  Some of the most excellent food in Silicon Valley completes the ride with an excellent gastronomic feast to recharge the mitochondria.

We encourage carpooling, DBC kit, and good behavior: make your momma proud.

Start 0900 at Gunn High School in Palo Alto, CA (If driving to Palo Alto, depart 0630 from Davis)
67 miles, 6500′ through the cool coastal breezes
Route: RWGPS Route
For car-pools, contact Bill Williams or Robert Enzerink if you can drive or need a ride. Looking forward to a great group ride.

Cycling is an inherently risky sport and any cyclist taking part in a DBC ride releases DBC from any liability.  Guests are welcome to ride with DBC for one ride.
