Davis Double Century 2023 Results

The 54th Davis Double Century is now history.  The weather was great. It was warm late in the day when the riders were climbing Resurrection, but that is very common for the Davis Double Century. We had 232 finishers, plus six more finishers from the Workers Ride. More than 90% of those who started finished the ride. (List of finishers below).

We had two finishers under the age of 20: River Bull, age 14, a Northern Californian who is getting quite a reputation in the double century circles; and Graham Fletcher, age 17 who came all the way from British Columbia to do the ride as part of high school senior project! We also had eight Septuagenarian finishers, with Greg Olson finishing as the oldest rider at age 75. (We suspect that there were older riders but they did not reveal their age!)

Traditionally the Davis Double Century has an open start and does not record start times, but this year we offered optional start timing, still with an open start. We had 33 finishers take advantage of this option and their overall time on the course is reported. Congratulations to Colin Ng for the fastest time of 10h 43min! For the total number of Davis Double completions, Stanley Tsang officially leads with 29 completions. Eric Norris, Tim Bartoe and Tom Buscheck are tied at 28, and Richard Hoff at 27. But the CTC records go back only to 1993 and the Davis Double started in 1970! But we know that Tom Buscheck has the unofficial record of 46 completions!
