We had a total of 207 finishers (includes finishers from the Worker’s Ride) in the 2025 Davis Double Century Ride. 48 of the riders were new CTC finishers — about 25% of the riders, which matches with last year’s numbers, welcome to the club! Roughly a 90% completion rate in total. History does like to repeat itself…
luckily, not with the 2019 rain.
The youngest known rider was Brennan Buscho at 14. He is one of the first two to check in at the finish line. The other individual is Gary Swanson. They both checked in at 4:38 PM. Tyler Kern came in at 3rd (not far behind) with a time of 4:48 PM. The oldest known rider is Gary Olson at 78, one of seven
septuagenarians. Amazing!
If not rain, or heat, the other option is wind and that is what many cyclists faced this year. I think this is the better option of the 3 elements. Riders dealt with headwinds the first half of the course; some dealt with the headwinds for the first 130 miles, but that didn’t stop many of you. There was relief for the last major climb, Resurrection, where tailwinds were unexpected. This is a rare occurrence for the Davis Double. All in all, everyone arrived at the finish in good spirits.
Congratulations to all finishers! The Davis Bike Club hopes to see you again next year, mark your calendars, May 16, 2026.
