Gold Lakes tour

Reservations for the 2025 Gold Lakes tour, September 15-18, 2025 (M-Th), are now open for DBC members only. Dave Joshel is reviving this tour where we stay in one place and go on rides each day from there.

The cost is $325/person, double occupancy for 3 nights lodging, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 1 group dinner on Monday night. We charge a non-refundable $50 deposit to hold your spot. If you cancel and there is someone to take your spot, you’ll get your money back. Three cabins have at the Feather River Park resort have been reserved where we can fit 15 in very comfortably.

The location is in Blairsden-Graeagle CA, in the northern Sierra Nevada, a three-hour drive from Davis, and an hour north of Truckee.

Day four, Sept 18: departure, or get up for an early ride before you leave.

If you’re still not tired, there will be enough time in either day to do the 4.5 mile climb up to Plumas Eureka State Park, which has an excellent museum of the area, and displays of early mining equipment. The Park was formerly the site of a large gold mine.

To participate you don’t have to ride every day, and if you’d like to do a different route than the planned route, you can do that too. The planned route will have a sag driver with lunch and liquids.

Tour arrangements

To reserve a spot, send a $50 check payable to Davis Bike Club to David Joshel at 2743 Loyola Dr, Davis CA 95618.

Sign up with a roommate or as a single and we’ll try to get people paired up. There are also extra beds in the living room. There are 2 full bathrooms in each cabin for 4 or 5 people. Breakfast and lunch will be self-serve from a variety of choices, plus you can also bring any special food if you have unique dietary needs. Dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday will be on your own. You can bring food to cook, or eat in town. All cabins have a full kitchen and are equipped with outdoor grills.
