May 13 guest speaker: Kari Watkins, bike safety and infrastructure

Come hear a leading expert in bikeability research at the next Davis Bike Club members and friends social, Monday, May 13 at 7pm.

Dr. Kari Watkins joined the UC Davis faculty in 2022 after over a decade at Georgia Tech. Her research focuses on trying to understand how to make cities more bike-friendly and transit more user-friendly. On the bike side, she has done research to better understand the perceived and actual safety of cyclists in the road environment.

This presentation is a great opportunity to learn about the different types of biking infrastructure; and learn how they’re perceived by different users: serious cyclists, casual cyclists, engineers, and academics.

DBC members and friends socials are free and open to the public, and held the second Monday of the month at the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, 303 3rd Street (corner of B Street) in Davis.
