A report of how the Davis Bike Club distributed philanthropy funds in 2013
About one third of our philanthropy budget goes to supporting DBC members participating in charity fund raising rides. The remaining two thirds is divided among a variety of local charity organizations. The total philanthropy budget for 2013 was $5000.00.
During 2013 DBC contributed funds on behalf of nine DBC members participating in charity rides. Five members were involved in the AIDS/lifecycle ride to end Aids, and four rode the Livestrong challenge.
Local charities receiving DBC funds this year included:
- American Red Cross of Yolo County
- Yolo Eyes for Others
- Winters High School (for bike helmets)
- City of Davis (for Street Smarts program)
- West Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department
- Woodland Bike Campaign (with Alpinsanity funds)
- Yolo Food Bank (with Alpinsanity funds)
- Camp Kasem
- The Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center
- Davis Community Meals
- Habitat for Humanity
- Elderly Nutrition Program (meals on wheels)
- Putah Creek Council
- Short Term Emergency Aid Committee (STEAC)
- Tuleyome
- Yolo hospice
- Yolo Land Trust
