Philanthropy – 2025 recipients

John Hess, Philanthropy Director for the Davis Bike Club, has announced donation recipients for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

DBC is able to provide support to these organizations due to the income generated by the annual Davis Double Century and Foxy’s Fall Century rides. DBC relies on its volunteers to make these rides possible. Many DBC members and community helpers come together to make the Double Century and Foxy’s such well known, well respected, and popular events.

The five organizations selected this year are The Bike Campaign ($2500), Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates ($2500), The Bike Collective ($1000), U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame ($1500) and NorCal Trykers ($1000). DBC also made a donation to the City of Davis Safe Routes to School program ($2000) to provide loaner locks at schools and bicycle-centric books for school libraries, and to the Julina Gow-Smith recovery fund ($200). Most of these organizations were described in detail in last year’s announcement of donation recipients.

For our bicycling advocacy (not Philanthropy), DBC also made donations to California Bicycle Coalition ($1000) and the Zombie Bike Parade ($2500).
