Description:
The Solano On Flat Terrain Friday ride begins at 9:00 AM just west and south of the of the La Rue Road and Old Davis Road round-about intersection. Ride by GPS route
This farm country route extends south into Solano County along smooth well maintained roads (though watch for gravel occasionally at corners) and loops back to the start point at the Information Booth on Old Davis Road. Usual post rides end at either Scrubs Cafe on the Vet school campus or The Silo in heart of campus on Hutchison, subject to school calendars. We do not risk riding on campus when school is in session. The route is approximately 25 miles in length. The route may be ridden clockwise or counterclockwise depending on wind conditions.
The ride is suitable for both road and e-bikes and will be led at a 12-14 mph moving speed.
The ride will neither be conducted if winds are forecast to exceed 15 mph, nor started in the rain. Riders are responsible to check their weather apps and the DBC Listserve emails before starting out.
Ride Notes:
Plan to arrive ~5 minutes early
The group will roll out at the listed start time. If you miss the start, follow the route and catch up / intercept the group
Cycling has inherent risks
Any cyclist taking part in a DBC ride releases DBC from any liability. Guests are welcome to ride with DBC for one ride; for subsequent rides, you must be a member of the Club. By riding with a DBC group ride you acknowledge that you have read and understand this. Helmets are required on all rides.
The ride will vary each month depending on weather conditions and whatever strikes the ride leaders’ fancy. Look for an email from the DBC discussion group with the ride description and route link from Ride with GPS. If you haven’t, sign up for the DBC Discussion Group (or pre June 1, 2025 old listserv here)
