Gold Rush Randonnée 2025

Join Davis Randonneurs in the NorCal Sierras, September 3-6, 2025

Gold Rush Randonnée 2025

The DBC hosts the 1200km Gold Rush Randonnée… one of the longest running 1200ks in the United States. GRR was last held in June 2022, after a complete overhaul of the event. Read about the adventure here. We’ll be hosting the next Gold Rush Randonnee this year on September 3-6, 2025. While also running Gold Rush, we’ll host a 1000k too, and a set of gravel adventures out of Quincy, CA where the Gold Rush is largely based.

This ride is a big one.

On Day 1 you’ll ride through the Central Valley, and then head up into the foothills of the Sierras near Bullard’s Lake. Reaching Highway 49, you’ll climb to Downieville and then over Yuba Pass before getting to Quincy, 211 miles later.

Day 2: stitches parts of the old GRR route and adds some new territory. Over to Antelope Lake and down the Janesville Grade, riders will head to Susanville. From there, they’ll ride the Bizz Johnson Trail, 17 miles of gravelicious fun. A long effortless downhill takes riders back to Lake Almanor and then they”ll wind their way back to Quincy for some R & R.

Day 3: puts riders on Gold Lakes Road, over the high point of the ride. Once they reach Bassett’s they’ll circumnavigate the Sierraville/Loyalton valley with a couple of climbs to accentuate their day.

Day 4: it’s all downhill from here, except the parts that aren’t! Down the stunning Feather River Canyon, out to Oroville and around Sutter Buttes and finally, heading south to Davis.

Days 1 & 2 are the same for 1000k riders, with a longer day 3 that includes a portion of the Sierra Valley loop and then picking up the road down the Feather River Canyon and back to Davis.

And have we mentioned food? Chef Gary Parsons will be on hand once again with culinary delights to satisfy your riding needs. Sign up and join us!

VOLUNTEER! We could use some help from the DBC as volunteers in Davis.  Here’s a direct link to the volunteer form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeanJLXaQjvw7ln1DUuK_QvMyGjxRObTH4__WWVUaG3BaJNLg/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=115469951717046269970

We need assistance on September 2nd from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. On the 2nd we need help with bike check and we need people to “person” a small set of tables for the riders: one for jerseys, another for signed waivers and so on.

We also need a small team of people to receive riders when they arrive back in Davis. That’s on both the 5th (for the 1000k riders) and the 6th (for the 1200k riders). If you can lend a hand before the ride starts or on the 5th or 6th, please let Deb know, it would be extremely helpful. Plus, we have some GRR swag for everyone who lends a hand!

These events are a part of the backbone of the DBC. Let’s lend a hand and help make them memorable for the riders!
